Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and recommend new gaging for use in various applications, including dimensional, temperature, pressure

  • Maintain the calibration and inspection status for all gages and tooling, including:

    Coordination / Scheduling of inspection activity to be performed in-house

    Coordination / Scheduling of calibration activity with 3rd party, including activity that is on-site and off-site

    Ensuring no disruption to production/maintenance activities while gages and tooling are removed for calibration

    Review of certifications / inspection reports to determine whether the as-found condition requires follow-up

    Update of certifications into HAIs database

  • Issue and coordinate resolution of Equipment Discrepancies used to track anomalous conditions

  • Maintain control charts for history of calibrated items

  • Analyze data to determine trends and predict future actions

  • Facilitate gage R&R activity and other investigations

  • Prepare long-term contracts and coordinate purchase requisitions for 3rd party calibrations

  • Perform receiving transactions to confirm acceptance of 3rd party activity

  • Coordinate resolution of gage / tooling issues with suppliers and internal persons

  • Provide maintenance of hand gages

  • Perform calibration / verification functions, including torque verification and tooling inspection

  • Special projects as assigned by the team lead

  • Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in calibration or inspection or equivalent, or ASQ certification for calibration

  • Experience in the administration of electronic databases

  • At least five years experience in calibration or tooling control

  • Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of MS Office, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Outlook

  • Understanding of the calibration process, including various gage and standard functions

  • Understanding of blueprint reading for tooling

  • Understanding of ISO 17025 for calibration and laboratories

  • Understanding of best practices for gage R&R, including methods such as ANOVA

  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and electronic / pressure masters

  • Understanding of the impact of metrological controls, relating to results of calibration and inspection

  • Understand measurement uncertainty and its relationship to calibration

  • Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:

  • Climate-controlled office environment

  • The performance of this position routinely requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes

  • The performance of this position routinely requires the ability to lift at least 25-lbs
