Georgia-Pacific iscurrently hiring for a 3rdShift,(11PM-7AM) Production Supervisor at our corrugated box manufacturingfacility in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will demonstrate safetyas a value and lead a crew of 20-30 employees to exceed production expectationsfor the shift. The candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitmentto safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality.

A Day In The LifeTypically Includes:

This position willprovide leadership on the operating floor striving for compliance in safety,health, environmental, and quality. Also responsible for coaching, training,and developing operations personnel in safety, quality, production, problemsolving, and technical and interpersonal communication skills; addressing keyissues and concerns; and interacting with employees from other departments toensure quality, on-time production.

  • Exemplify and drive MBM® culture 
  • Achieve safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify and mitigate critical hazards. 
  • Responsible for making sure team is appropriately staffed. 
  • Communicate responsibilities and expectations to direct reports and hold them accountable for results.
  • Create an environment where highly productive employees are motivated and retained.
  • Manage production areas that drive improvement in all associated work processes affecting Environmental, Health & Safety, Compliance, Reliability, Quality, Production and Costs. 
  • Ensure best practices are being followed for minimization of waste at machine centers. 
  • Track continuous improvement opportunities where performance issues are apparent and provide leadership/action plans for gap closure.
  • What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications:
  • A High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or lead role in a manufacturing, military or industrial environment 
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel (create/modify spreadsheets), Word (create/modify documents), and PowerPoint (prepare/present presentations)
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Willing and able to workoff shift, including holidays, weekends and overtime as needed
  • Able to lift, stand,sit, bend, walk as required for the role
  • What Will Put YouAhead?

    PreferredQualifications:

  • Associates degree (or higher) in manufacturing, business, or engineering
  • Experience working with production scheduling system such as KIWI application
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience within the Corrugated Industry 
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the pulp and paper industry
