Personal Care Assistant (PCA)


Job Description


The main focus of this position is to encourage and provide complete client satisfaction while maintaining clear communication with the office and nursing staff. This position ensures quality care to clients, while communicating client information to the office. This position reports directly to the Staffing Supervisor/Branch Manager.


  • Provide clear communication to the staffing supervisor and nurses regarding client conditions and issues;
  • Perform Homemaker duties as listed on the client care plan;
  • Perform Personal Care duties as listed on the client care plan;
  • Perform Respite duties as needed during respite services as listed on the client care plan;
  • Attend in-services as scheduled (minimum ten one-hour sessions per year);
  • Complete time sheet and charting on a shift-by-shift basis including the client s signature; AND
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age;
  • High school diploma or GED;
  • At least six months paid experience in the health care industry, or one year non-paid;
  • Verifiable experience in the home care/in-home service industry or caring for the disabled or children within the past 18-24 months.; AND
  • Must complete Company orientation, successfully passing Company exams with a score of 80% or higher.

Work Hours:

8:00am-5:00pm, but may vary as needed.
